Need delicious Passover desserts, cakes and treats your family will love? No problem! These Pesach dessert and baking recipes are tried and tested and recommended by my family to yours.

Coming up with creative and delicious cakes, showstopping Pesach desserts, and yummy cookies and bakes can be difficult at the best of times, but when your main ingredients are missing, it’s a real challenge! I try to avoid using matzah meal in my Pesach baking because I think it has a very particular flavour which I don’t much like, but I do get creative with almonds, coconut and potato flour (potato starch) and it’s possible to create some really fabulous goodies.

For specifically vegan desserts, treats and baked goods (and everything else!) head over to the Vegan Pesach Survival Guide, which has over 40 delicious plant-based Passover recipes.

Passover desserts, bakes and cakes

Below you will find a selection of our family favourite Pesach cakes, cookies and desserts. My daughter Kipper is particularly fond of the Passover tiramisu! I think my favourite is the gluten-free lemon and lavender cake – you can skip the lavender if that’s not your thing, and it’s still delicious.

Whether it’s for a celebratory family meal, a relaxed afternoon tea, or just a quick snack with a cuppa, I think you’ll find something here to suit. These Passover dessert and baking recipes include cookies, cakes, cupcakes, slices and desserts. So tuck in and enjoy!

The best Pesach (Passover) cakes treats and desserts, including Duke of Cambridge matza cake, coconut cupcakes with fresh raspberries, easy cake pops and machos (matza nachos) with cinnamon sugar and fruit salsa.

The best Passover cakes, treats and desserts

1. Favourite chocolate pecan cookies

These are some of my favourite cookies to eat year round! I usually use a mixture of tahini and peanut butter, but if you avoid kitniot, you can simply substitute almond butter (or the nut butter of your choice) for either or both of these. They will still be delicious, and hard to eat just one!

2. Flourless chocolate fudge brownie cookies

Make them dairy or parve, with or without nuts, these easy fudge brownie cookies (brookies) are sure to be a big family hit. We all love them and I make them for Pesach every year!

3. Duke of Cambridge matza cake

4. Lemon, lavender and almond cake

OK, I know the lavender isn’t for everyone but you can leave it out and you still get a rich, moist lemony cake, drizzled with zingy lemon icing and begging to be eaten. This naturally gluten-free cake is luscious enough to serve as dessert with some fresh fruit, but can double-up as a terrific Pesach afternoon tea treat.

5. Flourless chocolate chip cookies

These are so good that this is my go-to chocolate chip cookie recipe year round! They’re made with nut butter so are arguably more nutritious than a regular cookie, and they have the perfect chewy texture and crispy edges. Yum!
